  • What is a Spore Syringe?

Psilocybe cubensis spores are collected from a spore print and mixed with distilled water. Then we apply ultrasonic vibration to ensure the solution is clump free. The mixture of water and spores is pulled into 10ml (BD) medical grade syringes and sealed for storage. Spore syringes are meant for microscopy research or they can be used to initiate mycelium growth on agar. *Spores syringes are not guaranteed to germinate every time with every project.

  • What is a Spore Print?

Basically spores are the seeds of a mushroom.  The way the cubensis varieties spread their spores is by dropping them from the caps or gills.  When a cube is ready to release its spores the veil breaks and the cap opens as spores drop from the gills.  You can collect the spores on aluminum foil, in a petri plate or on paper.  You can then store the spore prints for future use and mycology research.

  • What is a Spore Swab?

Certain cubensis varieties have a very low spore drop percentage or don't drop spores at all. These cubes do not create viable spore prints. Another method to acquire the spores is to run a swab up inside the gills of a mushroom and collect them in the cotton. You can then apply the spores to agar or study under a microscope. We use medical-grade cotton tipped applicators, the industry standard for swabbing spores.

  • What is liquid culture?

Liquid culture is different than a spore syringe in the fact that the spores have already germinated into mycelium and are growing in a nutrient solution.  You can use liquid cultures in more ways than a spore syringe, for example you can inoculate a substrate or grain directly with an LC.  You can find liquid culture at infinitylc.cc

  • Are spores legal in my Country?

Cubensis spores are legal in most Countries.  They are legal in Canada and USA except for a couple states.   If you have a specific inquiry about spore legality please contact your local authority and seek valid legal advice or do your own research online.  We sell spores for microscopy research.

  • What are psilocybe cubensis spores?

Psilocybe cubensis spores are the reproductive cells of the psilocybe cubensis mushroom, commonly used for microscopy research and educational purposes.

  • How do I store the spores?

Store your spores in a cool, dark place. Refrigeration is recommended to maintain viability for an extended period.
  • Are your spores guaranteed for viability?

Yes, we guarantee the viability of our spores. Each spore syringe contains visible spores and is tested for quality.  We cannot guarantee germination of spores with every project or with 3rd party substrates / grains.   Due to the huge range of variables and user error we can only guarantee germination on agar when used correctly.

  • Can I use these spores for cultivation?

Our spores are intended for microscopy research only and are not for cultivation or consumption.  You need to agree to our "terms of use" and disclaimer to complete an order.  Once you have the spores we are not responsible for how you use them.

  • What is the difference between spore prints and spore syringes?

Spore prints are a collection of spores on a surface, usually aluminum foil.  Spore syringes are spores suspended in distilled water in a syringe for easier handling, storage and use.

  • How to use a spore syringe

Spore syringes are meant for microscopy research or they can be used to initiate mycelium growth on agar.  They can be viewed under a microscope to study or applied to a growth medium.  Spores syringes are not guaranteed to germinate every time with every project.

  • What is Psilocybe Cubensis

Psilocybe cubensis is a unique and special type of mushroom.  It has a psychoactive compounds that can interact with humans called Psilocybin.  It is from the fungus family Hymenogastraceae and was previously known as Stropharia cubensis.  It is the celebrated and cultivated across the world and cherished for its amazing powers of healing and awaking.

  • Are mushrooms easy to grow?

The general concepts involved in mushroom cultivation are fairly simple.  Stay clean and work with quality genetics.  You also need a few peices of equipment to do things right.  All of this information is widely available at Youtube or Facebook groups and other forums.

  • Can I use spores with a grow bag?

It is not recommended to inoculate spores direclty into any type of grains or substrate as the chances of success are very low.   It is possible but we cannot guarantee spore germination when used with a third party or home made substrate / grow bag product.  Ideally you should use the spores on agar to create a live mycelium then using that to inoculate your grow bag or substrate.

  • Can I use Uncle Ben's Tek with a spore syringe?

We do not recommend this.   It is possible to have success with this method using a spore syringe but the chances are very low and we cannot guarantee spore germination using the Uncle Ben's Tek.   If you attempt to use a spore syringe with this method and it fails we cannot offer a refund or replacement.
