KSSS Peyote

Origins: Peyote 2012 S.R.P is the result of a 2012 “KSSS Peyote” spore sample revival-germination done by Myco Clay in 2021-2023. Two years of attempted germination resulted in success, and subsequent immediate release of the spores to the online community in 2023. No isolation or stabilization work has been completed for this variation.

Cap: Cinnamon brown in coloration turning pale orange in maturity. Bulbous appearance is typically very large in size through maturity, often disproportionately in comparison to the stem .

Stem: Bulbous white-yellow appearance typically spherical in shape and engorged/bumpy, rigid surface.

Gills: Very thin and often shallow in depth. Heavy spore deposit cover, occasionally not capable of ejecting spores. Light gray-brown in young fruiting bodies later growing dark purple-black with spores.

Spores: Dark purplish brown, subellipsoid, 11 by 8 micrometers on 4-spored basidia. Occasional failure to eject the spores in a reproductive capacity.
