Machine Elf Cubensis - 10ml spore syringe
Strain Origin: The Machine Elf strain is a unique hybrid, developed through the intricate process of anastomosis hybridization. This strain originates from a cross between a wild Peruvian Psilocybe cubensis and the Penis Envy Uncut (PEU) strain. The project was both challenging and rewarding, particularly in isolating some of the PE traits, such as wrinkled stipes and solid, non-hollow stems, which are typically recessive in the PEU variety.
Inspiration Behind the Name: The name "Machine Elf" is inspired by the late ethnobotanist, writer, and philosopher Terence McKenna. McKenna famously spoke of "Machine Elves"—entities he described encountering during his experiences with tryptamine-based psychedelics, especially DMT. These beings, also referred to as fractal elves or self-transforming elf machines, are a recurring theme in the psychedelic experiences of many cultures, including those of Indigenous Americans, Indigenous Australians, and various African tribes, as well as among contemporary Western users.
Gill Formation: The Machine Elf strain features gills that are typically medium to large, arranged in a tight formation. This structure is conducive to spore collection, making it an ideal strain for those interested in microscopy.
Microscopy Features: Under the microscope, Machine Elf spores are purplish-brown and measure approximately 7 x 12 micrometers. This strain is known for its prolific spore discharge. Upon germination, spores often display clamp connections and fine, feathered mycelium, offering fascinating details for study. It is recommended to use proper magnification equipment to fully appreciate the microscopic characteristics of this variety.
